About SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited)
The Hindustan Steel Limited (HSL), which was founded on January 19, 1954, is where SAIL got its start. Originally, it was intended to oversee a single facility that was developing in Rourkela.
The Iron and Steel Ministry completed the preparatory work for the Bhilai and Durgapur Steel Plants. Hindustan Steel also took over management and operation of these two steel factories in April 1957. Originally, the registered office was located in New Delhi. In July 1956, it relocated to Calcutta, and in December 1959, it finally settled in Ranchi.
To build and run the steel mill at Bokaro, a new company called Bokaro Steel Limited (Bokaro Steel mill) was founded in Jan 1964.Towards the end of December 1961, the Bhilai and Rourkela Steel Plants’ 1 MT stages were finished. In January 1962, the Wheel and Axle facility was put into operation, and the 1 MT phase of the Durgapur Steel facility was finished.

Who is the Chairman of SAIL?
As of May 31, 2023, Shri Amarendu Prakash is the Chairman of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Before assuming the role of Chairman, Shri Prakash was the Director in-charge of SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL). Shri Prakash, a metallurgical engineer from BIT Sindhri, began working at SAIL as a Management Trainee (Technical) in 1991.2020 saw the appointment of Shri Amarendu Prakash as a Director on the SAIL Board, with oversight over the Bokaro Steel Plant, following his tenure in a variety of positions of responsibility within plants and units.

Attendant cum Technician Trainee (Grade- S-1)
Those chosen for these positions will serve a one-year probationary period after two (two) years of training. They will be regularized in their starting grade at the minimum basic salary of their individual grades upon successfully completing the training period.
Visual Standards Requirements
Visual Standards: Standard Requires Post Parameter : Trainee Attendant/Technician (NAC)
Visual distance 6/12 both eyes, using or without using spectacles. One step reduction (either with or without glasses) for both eyes after the age of thirty-five.J1 or N6 near vision in both eyes. Glasses power shouldn’t be greater than + 4 D.
Color perception: Lantern test results with maximum aperture are normal.
Essential -Binocular Vision.
